Hi Dean,

One last question I promise.

One of the features I loved about EE3 was the ability to generate a PDF invoice on the confirmation email that an attendee was able to print and file for their account ( all my events are for professionals and tax deductable so they need good documentation)

Does event EE 4.29 support the shortcode to generate a PDF invoice ?

Hi Brent,

There are two ways to generate a PDF document. If the invoice payment gateway is enabled, then a PDF download option will be presented.

If not, then the attendee/registrant has the option to download a copy of their registration details as a PDF when viewing the order confirmation:

HI Lorenzo

Thanks for your reply.

Aplogies, I am still a bit confused.

I do not wish to have the invoice gateway enabled ( or at least I do not want it listed as an enrollment option)

So does the shortcode for invoices nolonger work ?

Experience has shown me that a lot of registrants make contact requesting a copy of their tax reciept for the enrollment. In Australia there a very specific rules about what must be shown on a tax reciept.

Just to clarify. Does EE4 nolonger support the shortcode that allows a link to a downloadable PDF to be accessed anytime after the actual enrollment process.

If not I would humbly request that this feature be made available as soon as possible in future upgrades.

Again if my postion is not clear. What would suit my needs is that a link to a printable tax invoice is made available (regardless of payment type ) on the enrollment confirmation emails that are sent out went payment is made.

Thanks again for your help

Kindest regards
Brent

A registrant can view a copy of their registration and download a PDF copy or print it by clicking on the order confirmation link on the thanks page:

Yes I understand that but is it possible for a attendee to be able able to view this is at a later date. I would like to able to inbeed a short code to a printable tax invoice that links from the confirmation emails.

This was possible in EE3 and it was one of its best features. I hope it is not lost in EE4

You would not believe how many customers contact you at a later date requesting a copy of their tax invoice.

Hi Brent,

Yes it is possible but it’s may not look straight forward.

Basically, you need to add this short code [RECIPIENT_EDIT_REGISTRATION_LINK] into the main content.

You would be advised to wrap it in an anchor tag, e.g.

Edit details and access invoice.

The reason I said it wont look straight forward is that it first send you to the Edit attendee page http://take.ms/oVD7G and after clicking the button it will then take you to the thank you page where you can access the invoice.

I tried to see if there was another way to achieve this without the edit details step, but currently it seems not.

Ok thats great.

That will be an ok (ish) workaround for now.

I like the idea of an attendee being able to correct some of their details themselves so thats a great feature 🙂

when you say anchor tags to you mean
the text ???

Experience has told us over the last few years of running events that attendees still like to have a separate paper copy of their tax invoice for accounting purposes. Often people enroll on Ipads etc and may not be able to print at the time of enrollment.

I understand your coding priorities right now are to get the core code of 4.3 up to scratch and stable
but if you could add the possibility of a one click to invoice option in future updates we would sure would appreciate it.

perhaps a separate plugin where the admins could easily design and make changes to tax an invoice template and the enrollees could acess their paid invoices at any time via an embedded link in the confirmation emails.

Im sure if you polled other EE users that used this plugin for running business seminars they would this suggested feature invaluable.

Thanks so much for looking into this and coming up with a viable workaround until you can ( i hope ) come up with a better solution.

cheers
Brent

Hi,

“when you say anchor tags to you mean”

The A tag in HTML – http://www.w3schools.com/tags/tag_a.asp

“perhaps a separate plugin where the admins could easily design and make changes to tax an invoice template ”

I’m not sure how close this will end up being but we are looking more into the invoice and particularly the receipt aspect. That being said I’ll certainly add your thoughts to our feature request list.
