We’re thinking of using Event Espresso for one of our clients sites, but before we do I’d like to know if the functionality we require is possible.
The site will be offering coach tours to multiple destinations/venues, such as the French Alps, Bavarian Alps and the Pyrenees mountains. Each tour may go to one or more venues although for the most part it will be just the one venue.
We would like the option to view all events by it’s venue/destination i.e. I would like to see all tours to the Bavarian Alps only and the dates available. Is this possible?
These coach tours will also be graded on different levels of difficulty for walking. We were thinking of using event categories for this. Again we would need the user to be able to filter events based on what category the event was in – i.e. Show all level 2 events, or level 3 events.
We’d like to have a search box on our pages where users can search events between date ranges, so if I wanted to search all events from Feb 1st to Feb 14th, any events that were within this range would show up.
Event Espresso has a venues overview page and a page for single venues:
example.com/venues/
example.com/venue/my-new-venue/
Event categories are also supported and you could use a shortcode to show events for those categories on a page:
[ESPRESSO_EVENTS category_slug=level-1-events]
Searching by a specific date range isn’t available at this time. However, the events calendar add-on could be helpful for quickly browsing to a specific month.
