I’ve seen some similar queries regarding this over the years, but we have never implemented anything like that, nor have I seen any third party implementations.
It might be possible with custom development but I doubt it would be easy or cheap.
Yes, I may have wondered about this here. The use case for us is for people to add a donation – typically done in the past by rounding up price to the nearest 10 or 20.
The ‘obvious’ solution for EE to allow that would be for users to be able to set a minimum price for a ticket and allow people to pay more than that.
That doesn’t feel like it should be too hard. If it is combined with having a maximum price, it’d be simple to test to see if min=max and display as currently done if so.
The alternative with the current system I’ve thought of is to have a ‘donation’ ticket costing, say 1, which people can buy as many as they want. But that either involves buying the ‘more than one event’s ticket in one order’ plugin or ends up confusing things within the main ticket selector.
Hi, we have an open feature request to allow a variable price option. We think that would be a good option since it will be helpful to event admins / organizers in different fields.
I’ve added feedback from this support post to that open request.
