Hi A few users have emailed saying they receive a pop up that says ‘the registration could not be completed. Please refresh and try again’. Not sure what could be causing this. It happens when they click to begin the payment process. |
Hi Ismail, Is your software up to date? Did this happen with a certain web browser and are you able to reproduce the issue on your end? — |
|
|
Hey Lorenzo We are using version 4.6.13.p. When I tried it myself I didn’t find the issue. However, three customers within the same day sent an email outlining this problem. |
Hi there Ismail, could you please up to the current release of Event Espresso 4? https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-changelog/ — |
|
|
Hi Lorenzo We’ve updated to 4.6.20. Users are still complaining that they cannot make payment. Our business has not been functional for the past week as a result. Please resolve this ASAP |
Hi, please share a link to a single event page so we can take a look. Also, who is your web host? — |

GoDaddy redacted – Event Espresso support team – LOC Students that complained of issues did so specifically for 3 student option (not sure if that makes a difference). |
Thanks for the link. I see that there is a caching plugin running: W3 Total Cache/0.9.4.1 You have caching rules setup for some of your pages but not all them. The examples in our no cache rules article are for a default install of Event Espresso. If your page slugs are different, then you would want to also include those in the exclusion rules. Add the following to the existing no-cache rules in W3 total cache and then save changes. /event-registration/ Then clear your cache via W3 total cache. Caching plugins usually do not cache for logged-in users so this may explain why you were unable to duplicate this issue. This change should fix this issue for you. — |

We’ve followed those instructions Lorenzo but the problem still remains. |
Hi, there are still some caching issues. I tried a registration and it failed with the messaging. I refreshed and then it prompted me for a payment (this is the expected result). Deactivate caching through W3 total caching and disable the plugin. Then login to your site with an SFTP client or FTP client and browse to this location: /wp-content Look for any cache or advanced_cache files and delete them. Then try again. If it works, then I would try WP Super Cache as it has less settings to configure. — |

The cache has been cleared and we have disabled the plugin, but the problem is still there. |
Hi, If you take a look within the source code of your registration forms you’ll find this – http://take.ms/aZ0EO Which means cached pages are being served for your site. With caching plugins you can not simply disable the cache and plugin. You need to clear/purge the cache to clear out the current cached files. You’ll need to re-enable W3 Total Cache. Go to Performance -> General Settings. Check all of types of caching do NOT have a ticket in the checkbox to enable them, and save the settings. Then go to Performance -> Dashboard. Click ‘Empty All Caches’ – http://take.ms/hZkTs Once finsihed disable the plugin once again. |
