Provide additional registration information post purchase

Hi,

We need to ask registrants to our event to provide us with additional details that we can tie to their original registration data.

Background: We sold tickets for an event in the future and now need to ask registrants for their travel details and accommodation requirements, which would not by any means have been known at point of purchasing the tickets..

I have thought about a few options but would like some support in identifying the best approach…

Option 1 – horrible experience but works
1. Add additional fields in mailchimp
2. Email registrants to update their additional registration data as part of their mailchimp profile
3. Manually move across to the database info into event espresso – matching on email IDs. Not by any means preferred and quickly goes out of sync!

Option 2 – bad customer experience but works
1. Enable additional fields in the registration form
2. Ask registrants to find the original sign up email which contains a link so that customers can go back online and update the registration form with the missing details.

Option 3 – best experience but not sure how to do this…
1. Add additional fields in the registration form
2. Use the batch message/newsletter option inside EE4 to email customers a unique personalised link to their registration details and ask them to complete the new and empty fields.

Any other easy options that I am perhaps missing?
