We’re trying to set up a registration site using EE4 for CPR classes we offer. The classes take place every other month, so there is no particular end date. For convenience, we simply enter the full year of classes at the beginning of the year (so all of our 2016 classes are currently listed on the website).
I currently have it set up as a single event (“CPR for the Professional Rescuer”) with multiple datetimes. How do I set up the tickets properly? Should I just set the expiration to December 31, 2016? If I do that, will EE stop selling tickets (as I would expect it to) to past datetimes once that individual class date has passed while keeping future class tickets open?
Huh. The more I work with this, I’m not sure repeating datetimes under a single “event” even makes sense for what I need to do.
When set up this way, there’s no way to pick an actual datetime… the ticket just “gives” access to ALL the classes, and there does seem to be any way for us to know which class (datetime) they’re actually trying to register for.
I guess I’m going to have to create a new event for EACH class (along with a new set of tickets for each event, making the parent post a moot point).
Wondering if I’m wrong about this… because that seems like quite a bit of unnecessary duplication in our use case. :-\
However, you don’t want to have too many ticket options on a single event as that won’t be a good registration experience so I would try to break up the event into multiple events if there are many recurring days.
For example, if it repeats once every couple weeks then you could create an event for each quarter.
