I am not sure this is possible, but with Promotions as the user increases their ticket purchases I want to increase my discount. For example, if the user purchased 2 tickets at $70, I want to discount them $10 per ticket so in this case $20. If they purchase 3, then discount $30…so on and so on. Is this possible currently or is it something that can be worked into the software in a future release.
Currently my workaround is to create multiple promo codes and allow the user to enter the correct one (or hope they enter the correct one). This will however require me to manually check each order to ensure no one used a large code than they should have.
Thanks,
Bryan
P.S. Promotion is pretty darn sweet! I am very impressed with the easy of use both from an admin perspective and from a user view 🙂
You can make it so the discount is increased with each ticket purchased by using the percent discount type.
So for your example, you can input a 14.29 percent discount and when they use the code, it will discount the price by roughly $10 per ticket at $70 each, for the entire cart.
This will ensure no one used a large code than they should have, and always discount the correct amount.
Thank you for the advice. Now to throw in a monkey wrench, I also have a ticket price at $80 that users can choose to select with the $70 ones. This would require a slightly different percent for each user to get a $10 discount. Any ideas here?
Finally the third monkey wrench is after about a week, the prices jump $5 each. This one thought I’m thinking I could just change the percent of the discount when the price jumps to stay around $10. Any other thoughts?
Yes, I recommend using the ticket bundle pricing feature that’s built in to EE4. This will allow the discount prices to work out the way you want them to. Here’s a link to the ticket bundle how to guide:
