I am using WP 3.8.1, EE Version 3.1.36.4.P, new install, and registration page I am testing is http://yourcomputerwhisperer.com/event-registration/?ee=8. I am trying to use the promotional code Couple Discount on a class where they can register two people (seems logical). I keep getting an error message that the code does not apply. Is this because of group registrations? I couldn’t find an answer. Everything I read suggests that the discount should be taken from each ticket price. |
Hi mpalmiter, Is the promotion code you are trying to use a Global Promo code? If not have you applied the code to that event within the Event Editor? |

I tried an experiment and it worked for now, but I don’t know why exactly. I made a new promotional code – Bring A Friend – and made it global. That worked perfectly in the registration process on both registrants. For now, that’s an ok solution. But when the code is not global it doesn’t work even when applied to this event. I get the red error message at the top that the code is either expired, invalid or can’t be used for this event. I will use the global code for now but am I missing something? PS – thanks for the quick response. You are all helpful. Peggy |

Hi, To enable non global promo codes, create a promo code and select not global. Then in the Event where you want to use the code, change Allow Promo Codes to Global and Specific Promo Codes and then select the promocode/s you wish to allow on the event. Screenshot http://take.ms/7BgNh |

That’s what I did, but I still got the error message. |
Hi Peggy, I am unable to reproduce this locally. Could you provide me with some more info on how the Event and Promo codes are setup please? |
|
|
Ok Tony – I will try to give you more info. If this doesn’t work, I can set you up as a user and you can log in and see what’s up. I set up a test event – the global is working on the others and I didn’t want this to interrupt what I have set up and live at the moment. Hope this helps. Peggy |

My reply ignored all my image tags. Let’s try again. <pre class=”brush: html; gutter: true; first-line: 1; highlight: []; html-script: false”> |

OK – what am I doing wrong with the images I am trying to insert? |
Hi Peggy, To post images on the forum you need to host them somewhere and then post the link here. If you prefer you can just send me temporary log in details using this form: |

I am sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner. I was teaching all day yesterday. I went back this morning to set up your log in and I thought I should test the site one more time. And now it works. I wish I could explain what I did right versus what I did wrong. All I know is that both the global and the non-global codes are working today. Please forgive me for taking up your time – if I screw up again I will try many times before I bother you. Thanks. |
Hi Peggy, No problem at all, I’m just glad it’s now working for you 🙂 I will mark this thread resolved, if you do run into any other issues, with any part of the Event Espresso, please feel free to open a thread as we can at the very least tell you if it is a known issue or something we need to investigate further. |
