Are we able to create a discount code that can only be applied to one sub-event?

We’re trying to promote two classes – Home Alone in Woodbridge on Nov 21st and Home Alone in Maple on Nov 27th.

We’d like to offer $10 off to certain individuals for these classes. Can it be done? How do you specify a discount by dollar value? We are using version 1.03 of the EE4 promotion plugin.

Thanks!

Hi Susan,

Yes. You can create promotion codes that are dollar amounts that only work on certain events. You set whether it is a dollar discount by changing the Type to Dollar Discount. Then you can select the event you want the code to be used on in the right sidebar.

Within our EE4 there is no way to select Dollar Discount. We see Percentage and Hamilton Huskies Discount. We also do not see a way to select a sub event, only the parent event?

Please help.

We are using the latest version of EE4 and the promotions plugin. Can I provide you backend credentials to take a look? We’re trying to promote Home Alone in Woodbridge on Nov 21st and Home Alone in Maple on Nov 27th.

Hello,

I’m not sure that I understand what a “sub-event” is so I’ll share some feedback on events for Event Espresso.

Events in Event Espresso 4 are separate and do not have any shared data in terms of ticket quantities. That is, event abc and event xyz will not share any information even if event xyz was created by duplicating event xyz.

On your concern on the dollar discount not appearing — could you go to Event Espresso –> Pricing. Then click on Price Types.

Then click on the Trash link.

Restore the dollar discount if it has been moved to the trash:

Hi Lorenzo,

Thanks I was able to add a new price. We want to apply the promotion only to a specific event date, not to all dates within a promotion.

Hello, promotions can be applied on an event-level basis.

They cannot be applied to a specific datetime or a specific ticket for an event.

Also, please restore the trashed price type if it was in the trash rather than creating another one.
