I have created an event for an annual conference and we have put all ticket types into this event, including the early bird and standard registration fees, companion and/or spouse registration, levels of sponsorship, exhibit booths and golf outing and club rental.
In short, there are probably 20-25 different “tickets” that can be purchased for this event.
Most attendees will purchase a registration and golf and possibly a booth or some level of sponsorship.
The event is co-hosted by four trade associations, at least one of which provides complimentary registration for their board of directors to the event, but not for golf and other things they might like to purchase.
I watched the video but could not tell how to attach a discount code (100%) to a single ticket type that is being sold. I could only see how it applied to a discount for the whole event.
Is it possible to provide a discount for the registration ticket only?

Hi Scott,
Not at this time. The Promotional codes can only be applied at the event level.
One option that has worked well for someone else that was trying to do the same thing, that you can do, is create one ticket type for the complimentary registration, and make that ticket only visible on a password protected page. So the password would work just like a 100% promo code. There’s a bit of code that will need to be added to the site to make this work, and it’s in our code library here:

You can add the above to a functions plugin or into your WordPress theme’s functions.php file. Then after you set up the password protected page for showing the VIP ticket, you plug in the post ID and ticket IDs into the custom code.
