Hello, I was wondering if it’s possible to show the price of the ticket decreasing when a 50% off promo code is applied on the payment page? |
Hi, Event Espresso is designed to show the amounts as they are so that the accounting and numbers are clear. The ticket normal price will be shown, then the amount of the discount will be subtracted, then the new balance will be shown. It’s probably possible to change the display of the ticket price to a new number after a promotion code is applied, but you would have to do the programming or code changes. And, in my opinion, changing the price of a ticket instead of showing the detailed price, discount, new total is more clear and a better customer experience. |

Hi, |
The default is that it should look something like this: https://www.screencast.com/t/w5YVirIX |

Apologies for the late response – I did not receive a notification for this response. Yes, that’s exactly what I would like for it to show. However, that does not show up on our Event Espresso. Is there something I can send you or somehow we can fix this? As you can see here, we used the “scholarship50” promo code and it was accepted but it was not reflected on the right side: https://www.cclr.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Screenshot-2023-04-25-121604.png |
Your layout is not standard or the default. So, it looks like some modifications have been made. I’m sure it can be improved by whoever designed and coded that new layout. |

I see, thank you. I will speak to our developers about this. I had another question regarding the use of promotion codes. Is it possible to limit the number of times a promo code is used? For example, we would like someone to purchase two tickets and use the promo code for their purchase so that it is applied to both tickets. We would also like for it to indicate that the promotion code was used TWICE (for each ticket) as opposed to just once (as in per registration). Right now it is doing the latter. |
Just the latter. |

Ok, thank you Garth. |
Just to note, the promotion codes (by default unless you have something custom for those) do not apply per ticket/registration, they are per event. Meaning any registrations from say Event A in the cart, will have the promotion applied if the promotion applies to it. |
