Hello,

I have a special case.

I have an event and I want to create a promotion code with 100% reduction. That mean, people can subscribe to the event, their names will be on the system (to have total control of the number of people, email adresse aso) but they are guest, so they don’t need to pay.

It’s working good but… the reduction is applied but… the taxes stay!

So.. in my exemple the need to pay at first 450 CHF, then there is a reduction of 450 CHF… but at the end, one must pay 36 CHF of Swiss Federal Taxes.

This is a no sens… It is not possible to have taxe on a bill of 0.00 CHF!

After that, I don’t know how is working the system with credit card (Stripe Gateway). If Espressoevent force to use it event if it’s the total is 0 CHF?

Could you improve it or explain me why it’s working like this.

Thanks a lot.

Phil

Hi Phil,

You can change the “Promotions Affect Taxes” option in Event Espresso > Promotions > Settings. You set that option to Yes and they won’t be charged tax if they use a 100% promo code at checkout.
