When editing an event, the promocodes in our system no longer show up under “Add promocode. Before, they were all listed and selectable.

However, if I create a new promocode right now, it appears under “Add promocode”

Why have the previously entered promocodes disappeared under “Add promocode”? How do I fix this?

Hi Mark,

Did you once have Roles and Permissions activated? If so, then promo codes created by one user can’t be seen by other users. You will need to recreate the promo codes so they can see by all users.

Thanks for getting back to me. I’m kinda new at this, so thanks for your patience.

I suppose it was active, but I have no clue how it became inactive. How do I check for that? How can I reactivate? If I reactivate will it be restored to the previous functionality? Or do I have to recreate them all no matter what?

Hi Mark,

This sounds more like the change to Global Promo codes than R&P.

As of 3.1.36 we introduced ‘Global’ Promo codes.

Global Promo codes apply to all events that accept the codes and are therefor not listed within the Event, as if they are Global they apply.

You can also create non global promo codes and select which events they apply too or just have all codes apply, regardless of ‘type’.

We have some documentation explaining this available here:

https://eventespresso.com/topic/promocodes-missing-under-add-promocodes/#post-84066

If you go to Event Espresso -> Promotional Codes. Are the promo codes listed?

Ah, that makes sense. Yes, they are all there. They’ve always been there, its just before you could see all of them when editing the event as well.

OK, one more question related to Promo Codes…

Our organization has issued “passes” to our events. Each pass is managed with a global code and grants access to any given event. However, it is intended that the code we give each organization is good for ONE seat at each event.

We don’t want to manually send out new codes for every event. Also, we want to prevent any of the organizational codes from being used more than once per event. Is there any way to block a code once it has been used, on a per event basis? If a feature doesn’t exist, can you think of a viable workflow to accomplish this?

I hope that makes sense.

Hi Mark,

The work around that I know of would be to use the social vouchers add-on. That will give you the ability to create promo codes that discount the ticket 100% and be used only once. More info here:
