Hello:
We are using EE to manage registrations for a training program. For each event, we have an ‘Earlybird Discout’, but for some events we offer additional discounts for specific clients. I set up promo codes to manage these additional discounts, and the promo code discount is being deducted from the earlybird. I would like to have the promo code discount to be deducted from the full price for the course.
Is this doable?

Hi Anne, that is not currently available as the early price price affects the event pricing directly. Then any additional discounts are applied afterwards.

I’m sorry to hear that, it seems like it should be a basic option. Is there any other way to accomplish this?

Hi Anne,
Yes, You can disable the promo code box while the early registration prices are in effect.

Thanks, but we need to make both discounts available simultaneously. We offer earlybird discounts to the general public and then we have separate arrangements with some our clients. The math is simple – can’t you just add a checkbox for before/after earlybird?

Hi Anne,
Sorry, no we cannot just add a checkbox. This is because it involves more than adding a checkbox and would involve refactoring the pricing module in Event Espresso 3. If you require this feature, you can contact one of the recommended developers on this page for a quote. They may be able to build a custom extension to the early pricing feature to allow for switching to the regular price if a promo code is entered.
