September 22, 2019 at 12:21 pm Hi All, I am using Event Espresso v4.9.80.p with the Promotions & Discount codes plugin. I was successfully able to set up promotion codes for events and redeem them, however the promo codes have to be manually applied after checkout, just before payment. Could you please advise if there is a way for the plugin (or EE4) to generate a URL containing the promotion code so that it gets applied automatically by the plugin? Also!! I have searched the forums and came across this link. Have there been any updates since then? |

Hi, Promo codes do not necessarily need to be input at checkout in order to apply a discount. For example, if you go to Event Espresso > Promotions > Add new, then leave the promo code field blank, and set up a discount for a specific event, that discount will apply at checkout automatically. |

Hi Josh, Thank you very much for your response. I was able to set up the promotions as described in your response and yes it works, however, my scenario is as follows: I have 1 event where I have normal tickets at regular prices for individuals buying tickets. Apart from that, I wanted to be able to offer different group discounts to different groups i.e. 5%PROMO for Group1 and 10%PROMO for Group2 so those respective group members can purchase discounted tickets. Now, if I follow your description and create 2 promo codes for 1 event, both those promo codes get applied at checkout thereby resulting in a 15% discount for everyone irrespective of individual or group. This does not work for me. That being said, I did create separate events 1 with regular ticket pricing (no promo codes applied) and 2 others with 2 different promo codes being applied exclusively. This works pretty well except for the fact that the information for both promotions are displayed at the bottom of the tickets pages of all 3 events. Is there a way in EE4 to prevent this information from being displayed? Thanks. |
Hi, Yes, there is a way to prevent the information from being displayed. You go to Event Espresso > Promotions > Settings then set Promotion Banners to “Do Not Display Promotions”. Then you click the Save button. |
