We are having a recurring problem of some transactions not being registered as successful on our website. The payment goes through, the customer is sent a payment notification from the site, but the registration remains unchanged as incomplete on EE.

I can’t pinpoint a pattern, other than it’s only happening with eWay. And occasionally. But it’s happening when we have sold out events, which is kind of embarrassing.

Hi,

Do any of your sold events events become sold out due to a registration “rush?”

For example, in Event Espresso 3, the first person to register will be awarded a registration.

No, that isn’t the case here.

Hi,

Could you let us know the version of Event Espresso 3 that is in use?

Hi,

Could you give the simplified transactions page template a try?

http://eventespresso.s3.amazonaws.com/2011/09/txnpage.zip

Download the zip. Then unzip it.

Login to your site with an SFTP or FTP client and browse to this location:

wp-content/themes/mythemefolder/

Upload the template file there.

Next, login to your WP dashboard and go to WordPress pages and click on that transactions page. Adjust the page settings for the layout to use the new template and save changes.

I will pass on to our programmer to implement. But how can I test it works considering the problem seems to be sporadic?

Hi there,

Are you running any caching plugins?

The other thing to keep track of is which browsers are in use when the issue occurs.

For example, if there’s a JavaScript error on the payment page, then it could affect someone running an older version of Internet Explorer where the browser has stricter tolerances for JavaScript.

A quick way to check for this is try testing the registration process across a few different browsers like IE, Firefox, Safari, Opera, Chrome.
