Problem with Messages

I am having an issue with messages. I can’t enable the Email, HTML or PDF settings under Messages Settings tab and all of my custom and default message templates appear to be gone. It was working fine and randomly stopped. My customer is no longer getting notification when a registration has been completed. Any help is appreciated.

Hi there,

May I ask what happens when you try to activate the message types?

Of course… The slider turns green and the next time I come back to or update the page it is inactive again.

Also… I see an error come up when I click enable:

An error has occurred:
The messenger being activated is not a valid messenger

Okay.. figured it out. It was an issue with enabling HHVM on our SiteGround Server. As soon as I turned it off it worked.

Hmm, strange.

Whilst we don’t officially support HHVM we have a few users using it with Event Espresso without any problems although it could be some part of the config on that server when using HHVM.

Yeah, I was just happy to figure out the issue. I actually had a second site that uses Event Espresso and checked that site and realized they were having the same issue. Both sites we’re recently migrated to this server so I assumed it had to be something with a cache setting.
