Is there a way we could print tickets for an event to sell complete with QR code prior to entering them as a registrant in the system?

How are you today?

The QR codes are a representation of the QR codes that exist in the system when an attendee is created (part of the registration numbers are randomized). So, you would need to add an attendee to the system before the QR code would even be created.

You could create tickets in advance by adding attendees in advance and then printing those off one-by-one without any real attendee’s information.

Event Espresso is designed so that attendees get an email with a link to their individual tickets and qr code.

So how do I go about creating tickets in advance without any real attendee’s information. Won’t the system require payment and then I would have to clean up the registration list afterward? Perhaps I’m missing something here.

You would create dummy registrations from within the admin and yes you would need to clean up the registration list, with the current system there is no way around that.

EE registrations all require a First Name and Email as a minimum so whichever way you do this will need info entering into Event Espresso at some point. If you don’t want to collect that data for the physical tickets and just want an actually ticket to scan at the door you will still need a registration within EE so need to input ‘some’ form of data (dummy data for your registrations).

Event Espresso allow you to create registration within the admin without requiring payment.

Go to Event Espresso -> Events.

Find the event you want to create tickets for and hover over the event name, a ‘Registrations’ link should appear below, click that.

Now at the top of the page listing the event’s current registration will be a ‘Add new registrations’ button. Click that to load the ticket selector within the admin, you will not be required to add a payment for those registrations.
