Folks, my client cannot use the printable ticket addon, but they want to format a printable email (or other printable option) that has specific ticket elements on it. We are using the MER addon, so I want the email to include the specifics of the purchase: how many tickets, for which event (day), which ticket type(s).

About six months ago, I asked similar questions and was told “it’s coming in future updates.” Well, here’s the future. Got any good news for me?

Hi there,

Are you referring to this thread here?

https://eventespresso.com/topic/custom-email-number-of-persons-registered/#post-25215

The ticket that Dean raised from that topic was completed and resulted in a new shortcode for emails added to version 3.1.31: [ticket_qty]

Awesome. I just updated to 3.1.31.1, and now the confirmation email is not being sent at all.

I do receive the administrator notice, so I know that emails are being sent. Please advise.

Also: in the previous version, the email sent was not working with the MER addon. The [event] variable was not showing multiple events that had been purchased — just one of them, and [event_type] likewise only showed one of the price levels. You can test here: it’s a copy of our ticket page but with all prices set to zero. ACC Test Tix Page Sign up for more than one ticket type and day (say, one senior Saturday and an adult and child for Sunday). Assuming the email is eventually sent, please confirm that the ticket type and ticket quantity will show all items purchased: total event days, total ticket types (for each day), and quantity of each.

Using the example above, I would expect the email to read something like:

  • Saturday, June 1: 1 Senior
  • Sunday, June 2: 1 Adult, 1 Child.

I tested on your site and I received emails for all of my tickets. The emails are sent separately because each attendee might be a different person and that person should have the information that pertains to their ticket. This may be changing in Event Espresso 4.0 (or later) to all go to the primary attendee if additional attendee information isn’t required.

Here’s an example of what I received:

Thanks, Chris. Looks like it’s now working for me, too. Perhaps a caching or server problem, or just old fashioned email gremlins.

Looking forward to the all-in-one option in a future version, but we would never be so bold as to upgrade underlying technologies during a ticket sale… so we’ll address that at a later time.

I think we’re good for now.
