I have the customer I’m building this site for asking me if there is a way to offer printable registration forms, that don’t require any online forms being filled out, to their customers that still prefer to pay by mail with paper and check . . . Don’t say it . . . i know, but the customer is always right . . . 😉

Hi Jeremy,

This workflow should work:

Create a registration form with custom questions.

A registrant enters only their first name, last name, and email.

The other questions are left blank and they select invoice. Then they will be able to print out their invoice after registration checkout and that will contain information on where the payment should be sent. The registrant/attendee could then write in their responses to the questions and mail it back in.

Once the event organizer receives the information, then they could go back and edit the existing registration record to add in the answers manually.

Hi Jeremy,

Another approach to handle this is craft a print stylesheet for the registration checkout page. You’ll likely want to remove much of the site’s elements from the print view and focus on the registration form so only the form elements print. I’d add that your forms will work best for print if they can avoid using dropdown style question types (text and checkboxes work best for print). Here are a few guides that discuss how to build a print-only stylesheet:

The way the printable form could work with Event Espresso 4 is the registrant would need to first select a quantity of tickets for the event, then on the page that has the reg form, you could add a “Print this form” button and further instructions to the reg form page. Then they can print the form and follow the instructions.
