Hi, I’m using paypal pro and when someone wants to pay for a ticket it shows this error I have cleared the cache, checked auto return on paypal, checked the pp api data, etc but nothing seems to fix it. Do you have and idea how to resolve this? |
Hello Emer, PayPal Pro (website payments pro) is an onsite option for accepting credit cards and bank cards so the auto return would not apply. Could you share a link to any active event page and could you let us know the country that you are located in? — |

Hi Lorenzo, |
Hi, I have a few more questions that will help us find a solution. PayPal Pro is available in US, UK, and Canada so the merchant account itself should be in one of those countries. From your feedback, it may be from the United States and your team is located in Costa Rica which should not be an issue. Are you testing in sandbox (debug mode) or live mode? Also, could you temporarily deactivate all other plugins and reactivate only Event Espresso and re-test? That should rule out a conflict with another plugin. — |

Hi, I’ve duplicated our site to continue testing, it’s easier I think. I did not disable the other plugins but I have not seen the “primary registrant” error again. I know, it sounds weird maybe is a bad installation, I’m going to try to update all plugins maybe it helps. Let me know your thoughts. |
So if you go to Event Espresso -> Payment Methods -> PayPal Pro There is a ‘Debug Mode’ setting there. What is it set to? Have your developers altered Event Espresso at all? The ‘An invalid registration was received.’ error means that the function used to trigger the email notifications is not being passed a valid registration from the transaction. Can you link me to a new event I can view this on? The above event is no longer valid. |

Hi Tony, I will update all EE plugins, hoping it helps. |
Hello, Are you still experiencing the error that was originally reported? I sent through a registration under the name USERTEST TESTUSER using a test-only card and it correctly rejected the transaction: https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/vhelp/paypalmanager_help/credit_card_numbers.htm Also, I see that you are using another ecommerce platform on the site along with Visual Composer. VC recommends 128M of memory so if there are many plugins running on the site, then I would also increase the memory available to PHP through the wp-config.php file: https://codex.wordpress.org/Editing_wp-config.php#Increasing_memory_allocated_to_PHP — |
