When a user registers more than one person for an event, the primary registrant’s name and email is saved for attendees. A few things.
What’s causing the issue and how can I fix it? Thanks in advance |
Hi Evan, We determined why this is happening. Here is how Event Espresso should handle an event that does not have any questions enabled for an additional attendee: Any registrations will be associated with the primary registrant. If a single registrant occurs that then will be linked to the primary registrant. If say 5 registrations occur, then they will all be linked to that registrant. If you enable the additional questions through the event editor, then it works like this: The first registration will be linked to the primary registrant. Any additional registrations will be linked to a different registration (e.g. a name an email) for each additional registrant. I looked at the form fields for the attendee #2 and although they say first name, last name, and so forth — they don’t appear to the the correct question type. That is, they are regular text questions instead of the special system questions. With the above mentioned, this is what is happening. The attendee #1 information is linked to the primary registrant. The additional attendee information is being linked to the primary registrant since there is no first name, last name, or email being collected under those “system questions.” This appears to work when you edit the attendee afterwards because it is loading the correct system questions. Now we need to determine how to fix the issue. First, if there is any customizations in place, go ahead and temporarily disable those by commenting them out or relocating them elsewhere (e.g. a gist file or a file on your computer). Next, deactivate and remove Event Espresso 4. Then download the latest version and install and activate through your WP dashboard. Then create an event called test, add a short description, and then scroll down and toggle the personal information group for the additional attendee and save changes: http://cl.ly/image/44173A1O2w1N Then launch a new browser window and register for two of those tickets. Is the registration information then saved correctly? Let us know what you find. Thanks. — |
