What is the difference here if there is only one registrant? I recently had the “Registrant” template get sent to a customer instead of the “Primary Registrant” for an event although there was only 1 registrant.

Also this is just a side question, but why is the google maps image not showing up correctly in my emails? It shows up correctly on the event page.

A primary registrant is still a registrant.

If you have BOTH the Registrant and Primary Registrant contexts enabled on a message type a single registrant would receive both.

I recently had the “Registrant” template get sent to a customer instead of the “Primary Registrant” for an event although there was only 1 registrant.

Which message type?

Is the Primary registrant context actually active, what is in the ‘To’ field for that context?

Also this is just a side question, but why is the google maps image not showing up correctly in my emails? It shows up correctly on the event page.

Have you setup an API key for Google Maps?

What do you see in the email where the picture should be? I’m assuming your email client has been set to allow the images on the email?

How can I remove “Registrant” as a context for a custom template? Would I just remove the email from the “To” field or is there a way to actually disable it?

And for the emails, I have images enabled (I can see the featured image for the venue and the logo for the company), and I assume I have the api key set up correctly since the google maps section works on the website page for the venue. Is that a good assumption or do I need to set it up somewhere else for the emails?

No, because Google started requiring an API key for Google Maps and the various different google maps apis. If your site had already made a request you were grandfarthered into a ‘no key needed’ install with limitations so I’d recommend first setting that up.

Go to Event Espresso -> Venues -> Google maps.

Do you have a key set? If not, click the link and follow the steps.

Removing the value set in the To field will de-activate the context.

You should also have this option – http://take.ms/E4yhK

Which can be used to enable/disable the current context regardless of the ‘To’ field.

Is there a test event I can register onto to view the email?

I don’t have that option, Do I need to upgrade or something? Either way removing the TO field worked. Thanks.

And here is a link to register, just choose the free ticket.

I also have another question about the default emails. For primary registrant, it has [RECIPIENT_TICKET_LIST] as one of the shortcodes, but it only shows 1 ticket. If there is another ticket, it shows the registrant again and another ticket. Is there a way to combine it so if Luke Skywalker registered for Summer Camp week 1 and Summer Camp Week 4, it would only show Luke Skywalker once and show both tickets underneath his name and registration code?

Yes, your site is running 4.9.39.p, that option was added in 4.9.46.p, we recommend always running the latest version of EE which at the time of writing is 4.9.51.p

Can you update to the latest version and see if that also fixes the map issue, please.

I just upgraded but it didn’t fix the google maps issue.

It looks like its an issue with your Google account.

The link in the email for the Static Maps image doesn’t actually exist so it can’t show an image. If I input exactly the same Venue details on a test site it works fine – http://take.ms/JHI84

If you go to https://console.developers.google.com/apis/ can you see the ‘Google Static Maps API’ listed in your account? (Note you need to log into the google account used to create the key in use on the site)
