When I use the ESPRESSO_TICKET_SELECTOR shortcode, the HTML output is wrapped in a “pre” tag. I assume this is part of the shortcode output as I don’t see “pre” tags appearing anywhere else on my site. This plays havoc with the formatting if the CSS for “pre” includes “white-space: pre;”, which is fairly common as not collapsing whitespace is one of the things that keeps the text pre-formatted.
Can you confirm it’s coming from the shortcode? And what’s the reasoning? Is it OK to just override it?
The ticket selector output should not have pre tags. The pre tags are likely in your editor. If you switch the editor to the text view, do you see the pre tags where you could then remove them?
You’re probably right, I think it may be the new WordPress editor having fun with me. It didn’t make much sense for you to be adding them in retrospect. 🙂
You could try adding the shortcode to a shortcode block. It may be the type of block you’re using, especially if the block in use is designed to show code.
I’ve put it in a shortcode block and it works fine. Cheers.
