1) How does one set up paypal to send customer a ticket once they have actually paid. Curious how that works. I know I can send a customer to a specified url after transaction, is it that simple?

2) When allowing employees to check in attendees, how does one set up user profile to allow limited access to main website, etc. I am assuming, I would just create a limited user profile, and use that for employee login using iphone and ipad, etc?

Thank you in advance.

Hi Harry,

1) The default plugin will simply email the user after payment with confirmation. If you have the ticketing add on as well, then it will email them but with a link to the ticket (they are produced dynamically) that the user can print out or download to their computer.

2) We have an addon called Roles and Permissions which creates a special user role called Event Espresso Admin. This role only has access to Event Espresso ) no other areas of the website) and even that access can be limited as well.

The Ticketing addon and Roles and Permissions are currently only available for EE3.

Thank your for the quick response:

1) In regards to PayPal, how does Event Espresso know the payment has been made? Is that easy to set up. Please forgive my newbie mentality. When ever I use paypal, when a customer hits the paypal button, they are gone, to paypal. How does the plug in know the transaction has finished. That’s what I’m asking. Is that easy to set up and in the documentation?

2) In regard to the ticketing plugin, I fully intend to use tickets and QR code scanning. Due to these requirements I am looking at business edition EE3. It is my understanding both those plug ins, ticketing and permissions, come with that level. Business $199. Is that correct?

3) Plan on using X theme. Any issues you might know of with that theme?

Really, I guess that’s it for not. Getting excited. Thanks again for your time.

Hi Harry,

1) PayPal standard is pretty easy to configure and here is how we know when payment has been made: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/how-to-set-up-paypal-ipn/

2) Correct.

3) I’m not familiar with that X theme. But assuming it is well coded and follows the WordPress coding standards then there shouldn’t be any major issues.

Ok, another question. Thank you in advance. This is regarding tickets.

Here is the use: I am selling skydives as a third party booker. That means they buy from me, redeem from the business.

1) Can I set expiration dates for the tickets? And can the event even handle this.
Example: A customer goes to the site, books a skydive for tuesday. But the ticket needs to be good for 90 days and actually expire, rendering it useless.

Can event espresso actually be set up this way? And if so how? One year long event? Or 365 individual events?

I hope this is clear enough. Thank you very much for your time.
