Hi, I am developing a we site for a client and looking at EventEspresso as a solution for the events management. I have some questions. I have to say your website information is extremely confusing; made a million times worse by this E3 versus E4 thing. It seems almost impossible to know which of these is the correct solution. I assume the E4 version is they next version you are developing; so the first question is – will my client be able to upgrade to this if you stop developing/supporting the E3 version? They are looking for a system that can allow them to manage their mailing list via Mailchimp; will EventEspresso allow them to use Mailchimp to keep in touch with their mailing list generated from their event registrations? Do you consider the front-end of your system to be accessible to disabled people? They are keen that they are not discriminating against anyone – and not in danger of falling foul of the Equalities Act in the UK. Here is a question my client asked me: “Event Espesso l can only find a price of $199 for EE3 with all the add ons we would require, can’t find a price for EE4? But is it your understanding that this would be a one off payment with no costs per ticket? ” So to reply to them I need to know if this £199 payment is all they need; apart from the transaction cost related to the payment provider they choose; which is a cost I’m reminded them of. Are there additional cost to add payment providers, i.e. are the payment provider modules free or is there a cost to add each in turn? I’d appreciate your help. Thanks. |
Hi Jim, Thank you for the feedback, we are working on some improvements to help make the choice of EE3 or EE4 easier to understand.
Provided you do not alter tables within the database then yes your client can upgrade from EE3 to EE4 once EE4 meets their requirements.
Yes, EE3 (and EE4) both integrate with MailChimp. You can select the list to add your attendees to within the event editor. As soon as your attendees register onto the event they are added to the list.
Accessibility is something we are working on, currently all forms items include labels and checkboxes/dropdowns/radio buttons are all correctly formatted within the HTML output etc and we also do not alter the tab order within the page. If you do find any area that needs improving if you let us know we can open up a ticket for the developers to investigate.
To find pricing for EE4, on the pricing page click the blue bar to switch versions. You will then see the licenses offered for EE4. License are for support and upgrades for 1 year, Event Espresso does not add additional fees to your tickets etc (no commission based ticket sales) so the only fee you pay is for your Support/Update license. EE3 includes multiple payment provides within core, their is no additional fee from ourselves to use these. EE4 currently supports a smaller number of payment gateways, which are included with core and can currently be used without additional fees. EE4 also supports Mijireh as a payment method, which is basically a 3rd party that connects to multiple payment gateways, these have their own fee’s should you chose to use them. As EE4 adds more payment providers these may be released within Add-ons which may incur and additional charge but currently not. Please just let us know if you have any further questions. Tony |
