Hi

I have some specific requirements and need to know if Event Espresso can do the following

-have multiple ticket types for one event.
-have the ability for the organiser to switch people from one ticket type to another ticket type for same event.
-display number of tickets available for individual ticket types.
-the ability for PayPal intergration with the added feature of not overselling (over booking) the maximum tickets allocated for the specific ticket.
-The ability to add fields to collect specific information about ticket purchaser example: date of birth and other custom information.
-The ability to set ticket sales to start on a specific day and time of day.
-email website owner and ticket purchaser of sale of ticket.
-ability to send email notifactions to each ticket type seperatly (changes to event might only affect one ticket type only and not the rest of the ticket types).
-to be able to set banner image for each ticket type.

Hi Rob,

How are you today? Thank you for considering Event Espresso.

We currently have 2 versions of Event Espresso EE3 and EE4, it appears you need to specify limits per ticket type, in which case you would need EE4 as this is not fully support in EE3 so I will answer all of you questions based on EE4.

I’ll break each of these questions down.

-have multiple ticket types for one event.

You can create multiple ticket types within EE4 and the user can select a quantiy of tickets from each type. You can also specify minimum and maximum tickets per registration, not only as a whole but per ticket.

-have the ability for the organiser to switch people from one ticket type to another ticket type for same event.

EE4 does not allow you to switch ticket types but you can cancel a registration and apply the same details to a new registration on the correct ticket from within the admin. This would more of a manual process than simply switching the ticket.

-display number of tickets available for individual ticket types.

Within the Admin the Event Editor displays the ticket editor which includes all of the sold and available values for your tickets.

On the front end of the site the Ticket Selector shows break downs of the values the user can see.

-the ability for PayPal intergration with the added feature of not overselling (over booking) the maximum tickets allocated for the specific ticket.

You can set limits per ticket and sales will apply to those limits, you mention PayPal and Event Espresso does integrate with both PayPal Standard and PayPal Pro, however for best results preventing overselling you will want to use an on-site payment method such as PayPal Pro (Pro account and SSL required) or Stripe.

-The ability to add fields to collect specific information about ticket purchaser example: date of birth and other custom information.

You can add custom questions to the registration forms. We use Question groups to organise these but you can add both Groups and Questions.

-The ability to set ticket sales to start on a specific day and time of day.

The ticket editor allows you to set specific start and end dates per ticket.

-email website owner and ticket purchaser of sale of ticket.

The event admin messages will go to the Event Admin Email (the email address of the user account that created the event) but this can easily be changed. The ‘registrant’ will also receive an email when they complete the registration.

-ability to send email notifactions to each ticket type seperatly (changes to event might only affect one ticket type only and not the rest of the ticket types).

This would need to be manually, we currently do not have an option to select all of a specific type, although we have a ‘Newsletter’ feature that allows you to select multiple registrations (this would be the manual process, selecting the correct registrations for the correct ticket) and send a message to all of those registrations.

-to be able to set banner image for each ticket type.

Can you explain this a little further please?

Also you may want to ‘Test Drive’ EE4 so you can create and event and see if it will suit your needs. You can do that using this link:

The question about the banner. Is there a way of setting a image to display on top of the event for instance promotional banner as i want to keep all the visual banners i have for facebook and advertising consistent. Does the featured image get placed above the event tickets ??

You can set a feature image for the event, this will be displayed at the top of event. Like this – http://take.ms/TA672

However Event Espresso uses your sites theme to output the event content, so this will be dependent on the theme you are using.

Is that what you are looking for?
