We are WordPress users and looking to install EE for event management of courses we teach. If we have a class that has maximum seating capacity of 14 but that 14 can be made up of 5 basic only attendees 1 advanced only attendee and 8 expert attendees (Basic & Advanced discounted registration), can EE manage the capacity in order to sell out the course?

Hello Daniel,
Thank you for contacting us! We appreciate your interest in Event Espresso.
With EE4, you can set up an event that has a maximum of 14 (or whatever your maximum is), then set each of the ticket types to have their own maximums as well, just like you explained. Each ticket type can have their own pricing also.
What do you mean by “Basic & Advanced discounted registration”?

For clarification, we provide the option to take Basic by itself (ticket price 1), or Advanced by itself (ticket price 2), or you can take both Basic & Advanced together, known as Expert, and we provide that a discounted rate (ticket price 3). My concern is if we set the event for 14 max, there are all sorts of combinations of the 3 ticket options that can total 14…so we can not set each ticket to a maximum, since it’s unknown.
If we have 10 folks purchase Expert and 3 people purchase Basic, totaling 13, we only have 1 more seat available in the Basic and Expert sessions, but still have 4 seats remaining for Advanced. Complicated I know, which is the need for this system 🙂

I understand now. Thanks for the additional information.
You aren’t required to set maximums on the ticket types. So, you can set a maximum for the event/class, then any combination of the tickets can be purchased.
Does that help? Am I still missing something? 🙂
