I want to send up to 3 automated emails prior to our events. I was looking at the Automated Upcoming Event Notifications plugin, but noticed you can only use it for one automated email per event. Any suggestions for getting around this. One of the pre-event emails a personal message from the presenter, is there a way of maybe using Zapier to send it via Gmail?
We don’t currently have a Zapier integration so whilst it would be possible to do, it’ll need custom development to do it.
The ‘Automated Upcoming Event Notification’ message template has 2 contexts, the Event Admin and Registrant context, so whilst it’s not really recommended to do so you could use one of those for a second email (they would both be triggered at the same time).
If you go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Default message templates.
Click the ‘Create custom’ button on the ‘Automated Upcoming Event Notification’ template.
That will take you to the edit page for the new custom version of the template.
Give the template a better name than ‘New Custom Template’ and you’ll be editing the ‘Event Admin’ context. So you could change that to your presenter email, then switch to the ‘Registrant’ context (See more details on this HERE) and that would be the ‘normal’ user email.
Then just edit the event and select that custom template in the ‘Notifications’ section.
Will that work for you? It’s not going to get you 3 emails but it the closest you’ll get without custom development.
