Hello,
Similar to a WordPress page or post, a draft event is a unpublished content that can be viewed by a user that is logged into your site. Typically, they will need elevated permissions so for example, an administrator will be able to view it but a subscriber would not.
You can email the link for the event page to your team member but they will need to login to your site to be able to see it.
