Hi there,
I recently came across a problem with EE4. I have the latest version. When I added a new ticket to an event, the start time is correct year (2015), but the end date is 2115! I can not change the end year to 2015. Please help as it is a live event and one ticket is already sold, that is how my client noticed the error.

Thank you in advance
Ted

Hi Ted, are you seeing this on 4.7.9? I checked one of my test sites and did not see this issue.

Could you have a look at this quick screencast?

Does the issue continue when only Event Espresso is activated?

Thanks Lorenzo, I am at 4.7.9 and I don’t have any issue adding the first date and time. It happens when I want to add a new date to the event. Please check this link:

Hi Ted,

I also tested adding a new datetime on 4.7.9 for an existing event:

Does the issue continue when only Event Espresso is activated?

Hi Ted,

Now that the other plugins are deactivated, you should be able to set the correct years for those and they’ll stay set that way.

No Josh, The screenshot that I sent is the one after deactivating the other plugins! Please take a look at the screenshot and now it is at year 4030! I had to manually click over 600 times on the calendar to take it from 2115 to 2015 to fix the issue.

Hi Ted,

Contrary to popular belief, I do look at the screenshots. Now that the other plugins are deactivated, when you go in to create a new event, does the end date year still change or is it correct? The bug you found appears to be with the other plugin, not Event Espresso.

Thanks Josh, and Yes the screenshot was taken after I disabled all other plugins. There were only EE plugins activated. I created an event and as soon as I tried to add another date and time, the calendar jumped to year 4030! I think you can clearly see it in screenshot.

Hi Ted, I haven’t seen anything like this before and I’m not sure why the range would end at 4030 even when other plugins have been deactivated.

Are you familiar with a tool like Firebug or Chrome Developer Tools?

If so, could you please inspect the event editor and check to see if there are any errors? If there are then could you please share a screenshot here in a reply?

Hi Lorenzo, It is getting too annoying that I can not add date and time to an already published event. I attached another screenshot for you. I disabled all plugins but EE and when tried to add new date and time, the start is correct but the end time jumps to year 4030! Can you pleas help me with this problem? Here is the link to screenshot:

Hi Ted, we have not have other reports of the year jumping to 4033 so there may be something on your site causing this.

In an earlier reply, you mentioned that you tested with all other plugins disabled. Did you also test with a default WP theme such as Twenty Twelve or Twenty Fourteen?

If not, could you please try a quick test and then restore your site and share feedback here in a reply?

Along with that, is there any custom coding on your site for Event Espresso (e.g. in your themes functions.php file)?

Thank you so much Lorenzo, There is no custom coding in my website. And it does the same thing with WP2014! Do you want to have the login info to log in and see it by yourself?
Thanks

Yes, please use this link:

https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

Note: that we’ll need to move the site into defaults.

Thank you Lorenzo, You are super star. I just sent you the info. What do you mean by move the site into default? Will the site be accessible?

Hi Ted, we’ll be temporarily moving the site to a default WP theme with only Event Espresso running to see if we can determine why this is happening.

Hi Ted, I just finished testing and I did not see the issue but I have another idea:

http://cl.ly/image/2d1S0R001D42

Could you try logging into your website using an alternative web browser and then test on the draft event (unpublished)?

For example, if you are using Internet Explorer, could you try Chrome or Firefox?

If it works in the alternative web browser, then it may be a browser extension that is causing the date shift.

Lorenzo, You are amazing! I was using Safari as soon as I switched to Firfox, There was no problem. I really appreciate your help and time. Thank you again

Hi Ted, I use Safari myself. Would you mind sharing the browser extensions that you are using so we can try to pinpoint this issue?

For example, I’m using Safari with the 1password browser extension.

I don’t use any extensions. Just try to add a diatomite to one of the published events and later on we can delete it. Try to use the Flash photography event. There is no registration yet.
Thanks
