I clicked to update my Event Espresso 4 plug-in and after a moment or two received a red “failed” message on my WordPress 5.2 plugins page. Then I decided to refresh the page and was locked out of the entire site with the message saying it was “temporarily unavailable.” After 10 minutes or so the site up and running but the Event Espresso plugin at that point was missing from the plugins page. Using FTP, I can see that there is a folder called “event-espresso-core-reg” in the plugins folder within my WP content folder. I am hoping that all my EE data and events are still in place and that the plugin can either be restored or reinstalled to get me back in business. What do you advise for my next step?

Hi there,

Sounds like the WordPress update process failed, you’ll need to delete the event-espresso-core-reg directory using FTP (you event/registration data is stored in the database, not the plugins files, so wont lose any event data)

Then download the last version from you account page and upload that to your site using Dashboard -> Plugins -> Add new -> upload plugin

Active that version and you should be good to go. If theres any migrations for EE to run it will show you on activation and guide you through those.
