Hi Guys
I have been going around in circles. At first my PHP Session save path did not exist. I got this sorted through the hosting company (Melbourne IT) and editing the php.ini file. This works fine now and there no errors in the status apart from the system running on 40MB of memory rather than the recommended 64MB. All the shortcodes seem to work however the [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] will not show the events at all.

I have set the correct page in the general configuration. I’ve also tested it on other pages and it does not show up anywhere – just the text [ESPRESSO_EVENTS].

EE version is 3.1.36.4.P
Wordpress – WP 3.7.1
I have the Business version of EE so have all the associated add ons and the only additional one I have added is the Infusionsoft Add On
The only other plugins on the site are WordPress SEO and Calendar.

I’ve gone through all I can on the forums but nothing seems to work.

Here is a link to the registration page
http://www.sbcnorthwestmetro.com.au/event-registration.php

If you have a look at this next page you will see some of the shortcodes working with a test event (I have just pasted some shortcodes under each other for testing).

Thank you.
Regards
Jason

Hi Jason,

The first thing that caught my eye was that all of your URLs end in .php. That isn’t something that I’ve seen before with WordPress.

Could you run a search in WordPress admin –> Pages for the following shortcode?

[ESPRESSO_EVENTS]

There should only be one page with that shortcode on it. If there are multiple, please remove them so a single page has that shortcode.

Does your event registration page then load as expected?

If not, could you temporarily rename you templates folder with an SFTP or FTP client in this location:

wp-content/uploads/espresso/templates

Try changing templates to templates1

Does your event registration page then load for you?

Hi Lorenzo… Thanks a lot for your reply.

1) I’m not sure why the pages end in php… I’ll try to dig into that
2) I am certain that [ESPRESSO_EVENTS] is only represented on the event-registration page (have done a search). I am also sure that is the page in the general settings of EE and that it is not working.
3) I have renamed the templates folder to templates1 and still no luck with the events.

I have also tried deactivating and reactivating the EE plugin with no luck. To do this I have only restarted Event Espresso, not all the subsidiary plugins… should I disable everything and then restart everything? If so, in what order.

Thanks a lot
Jason

Hi,

It looks like the removing of the .php has resolved the issue, as I can see the event list and individual events.

Can you confirm that this is in order now?

Hi again Lorenzo… Well, it looks like there was a small plugin that was causing all the problems. The plugin name is [Dot HTML,PHP,XML etc Pages] and adds the extension to the pages in WP. I did not think this would be an issue but of course, EE is looking for the events-registration page without the extension. Once I finally figured this out and disabled the plugin, everything started working perfectly.

Thanks again for your help – as always your support is amazing. And I am so glad this is resolved.

Kind regards
Jason

Thanks for letting us know what the culprit was! I’ll mark this as resolved.
