We had some compability issues with PHP Version 8 and causing errors in the registration form. We switched it back to PHP 7.4. Any idea why we had this issue and can it be resolved?

Hi Mark,

Event Espresso is compatible with PHP 8. https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-changelog/

If you think you have found a conflict, please report it here.

We would need the PHP error in order to answer your question, but we’d be happy to do that.

Hi there,

Whenever you see the:

There has been a critical error on this website.

Error there has been a fatal error thrown in PHP which will have been logged i the server’s PHP error logs. Can you take a look in the logs and see if what errors are shown there, then post them here?

Tony, I am not sure where to find the logs

Your host will usually have a section to view errors thrown on your site within your control panel.

Or they may store them within an error_log (or similar) file within the root directory of the site.

I need the actual error being thrown on the site to be able to investigate this, the above are the ‘front facing’ or ‘pretty’ errors but they don’t show where in the core its from.
