I haven’t seen anything in the forums recently about PHP 8 compatibility. We’d like to upgrade to 8 – is there anything new to report about 4.10.29.p compatibility?

Hi there,

Not currently no, Event Espresso is not fully compatible with PHP8 at this time.

It is in the pipeline but we had to wait on various WP core fixes, those have now been applied and we can start working towards better PHP8 compatibility on our next dev cycle.

We’re hosted on WP Engine and they will force PHP8 when PHP7.4 comes to end of life in November. Will EE be ready by that deadline?

Hi Lisa!

Thanks for reaching out!

The Event Espresso team has fixed the PHP 8 errors we have found, so please consider updating your staging site to PHP 8 and report any error encountered.

It’s important to remember to save a full website backup before updating the PHP just to prevent unexpected issues on your website, and again preferable, if ask your hosting company to update PHP in a staging environment before the production one so you can do any testing and find any errors in your environment before going live.

Let me know if it helps!
