Hello, We’re currently using EE4 (we bought it when it was $50-ish). As we get ready to build the permanent site, we are wondering if we need to upgrade to the Developer version so that we can run EE4 on the sandbox site and the permanent site simultaneously. Technically, it’s the same site, but if we need to buy multiple licenses, we’re fine with doing so. Thanks!

How many sites are you going to be working with? Because technically you only need one support license for the sites were you want us to provide support and/or upgrades. You can take the files and run it on other sites, but we not be able to assist you with those sites. So in the case of your sandbox and live site, we’d recommend just using your license key one time (you choose which site) and that’s where we’ll provide support and upgrades. That’s up to you, but if you’re running updates and doing your testing on a sandbox site then pushing updates to live, then you probably want to ignore update notifications on the main site and address those systematically on the sandbox. Does that make sense?
