EE4 was not built to handle registrations by someone not attending. This has necessitated the development of an alternative solution that works within the limitations of Event Espresso 4.
It may seem that Event Espresso wasn’t built to handle this, but there’s some built in extensibility that allows what you’re looking for to happen.
One of the interesting features of the messages system is it allows you to set the TO: field for the Primary Attendee recipient email address to be sent to something other than the Primary Attendee email address. This means you can set it to send to the company email address. You will input something like this into the Primary Attendee TO: field when you set up the attendee message:
[RECIPIENT_ANSWER_*Company Email]
This way, the attendees will receive the regular “attendee” email, then the company contact will get the “Primary” attendee email. The actual primary attendee will still get the regular attendee email.
A few things that will help you make sure everything validates:
1) You download the current Master branch of Event Espresso from Github.
2) This will allow you to add an “email” question type for that company email field by means of a WP filter hook. Here’s the readymade code you can use:
