We are using event espresso in part to have a signup sheet for a persistent volunteer event that occurs every week. We have a calendar and you click on the event and it brings you to a page where you sign up for the date you wish, pretty basic. But, we have one event with 15 event dates and 15 tickets so people can sign up in the future. We also have failed to clean out the old event dates and tickets, and now most of them are seemingly undeletable.

We are now having issues that the admin side page with all of the events is slowing down significantly, there are errors making new event tickets and event times, and some users are experiencing double sign ups or sign ups on events they did not click on, or event dates they did not choose.

What are some potential solutions to this?

So, to confirm. You have one event with 15 datetimes and 15 tickets. How many attendees?

Generally, if you continually reuse the same event, the amount of attendee data grows and grows for that single event. So database queries get bigger and bigger…where as breaking those events into smaller periods means smaller queries (less data)…

Ideas:

– increase the power of your website server resources (temporary fix)
– start a new event with fewer dates and times and only use that event for a few dates.

Are you using shared hosting or dedicated server hosting?

Roughly how many attendees are registered for those 15 events? I expect a dedicated server plan should easily run a single event with 15 datetimes and 15 tickets with several hundred or a even a few thousand attendees.
