Hey there,

Does the People Add-On integrate directly with WP Users?

In my application – it would be ideal to allow website administrators to assign instructors to a course.

Instructors will also be signing into the website to upload reports on their courses. So – some pollination between Instructor A’s WordPress user account and their People Add-On role would be useful.

Say they change their email … it would be nice to have that updated everywhere on the DB. And when performing custom operations, I would be able to lookup one User ID rather than keeping track of two.

Thanks!

Hi Jeff,

What your describing is more the WP Users Add-on than the People Add-on.

The People Add-on basically allows you to setup ‘people’ that are of different ‘types’ within an organisation, you can then assign those people to specific events under any type specifically for that event.

That would be within the EE4 Users Add-on, which basically syncs up your EE contact with your WP User account. If you change the name on your User account, it is updated within your EE contact and visa versa.

Neither of those add-ons allow you to create ‘Instructors’ like you mentioned above, its possible to do, but not without some custom development.
