Hello can someone please let me know if we had the people add-on before today? something happened and all of our content was lost and we are trying to restore it but I’m not sure if the people add-on will help since we uploaded the back up file and the content is still not showing up.

Hi Kim,
I checked your account here and it shows you had the People add-on in 2017 and the subscription wasn’t renewed for 2018. The content on your site would not be affected by what’s renewed/not renewed on your account here though.
If all of your website’s content is lost then a backup of the database could be restored. If you do not have a database backup you could contact your web host and they may be able to restore the website’s database to an earlier backup.

we do have the backup file and have installed it but for some reason the content isn’t showing up. Are there any other plug ins or anything else that you can think of that I could try?

A backup of files or another plugin will not help if all of your website’s content is lost. This is because WordPress stores the content in the database. So you’ll need a database back up to restore from.

Yes we have a back up of the database (sql) that we have installed but for whatever reason, the content is not showing up. The hosting provider gave us the back up. I’m wondering if there is something else we need to do?

You could make sure the backup was taken at a time when the content was still on the site. For example, did you previously have events on your site? If so, there should be events that you can edit in Event Espresso > Events. If no events are listed there, even old events, then the backup that restored to didn’t have the content either.
If there’s no viable back up to restore to then you can add new events the same way you added events before.
