Using WP version 3.9.1
Event Expresso EE4 v4.2.4
New within the last 3 months and recently upgraded

Some payments show pending even though we have recieved payment through First Data. Is there a setting that I do not have correct? Also, I do not want pending payments to subtract from the spaces available for the event…how do I change that?

Event Expresso EE4 v4.2.4

Hi Brian,

Event Espresso 4 does have have a First Data payment gateway. Could you double-check the information that you shared in your prior reply (specifically, are you running EE3 or EE4)?

We are running EE4 and are hooked up to First Data. Some of the completed transaction show up as “Completed” and some show up “Pending” – wondered why this was? Also, I do not want the “Pending” transactions to subtract from my attendee total for the event.

Hi Brian,

We do not have a First Data payment gateway for Event Espresso 4. Is this a custom payment gateway?

Pending Payment registrations do NOT count towards registration limits, remaining tickets, and calculations for available seats. If registration for a free event occurs, then registrations are automatically set to Approved. For paid tickets, Pending Payment registrations are set to Approved when full payment is recorded.

I take that back – I just checked and we are running EE3 (Version 3.1.36.5.P). Pending transactions are subtracting from the attendee totals, so it looks like their are less spaces available left than there really are – I don’t want this to happen.

Thanks Brian!

Login to your WordPress admin and go to Event Espresso. Then go to General Settings and scroll down to Optional Event Settings. Set the Default Payment Status to incomplete and then save changes:

This setting can also be set on an event basis through the Event Editor –> Event Options –> Default Payment Status for Event (bottom right).
