Pending Payment Email being sent when transaction is complete

Hi there,

I’m having an issue since upgrade to Event Espresso – 4.8.9.p where backend emails and status are not being applied appropriately.

Here’s the process:
Step 1 Click Events from EE4 sidebar menu
Step 2 click Registrations on appropriate event
Step 3 – Event Espresso – Registrations Page – Select add new registration
Step 4 Step 1. Add New registration Tab – select ticket and number of tickets then press add tickets button
Step 5 Step 2 Add Registrant Details- I input registration details. untick Send a notification to registrants after processing? Click Save registration details and proceed button.

* no emails are sent at this point as requested. wahoo!

Step 6 – Event Espresso – Transactions Page – Click apply payment button – pop up opens.

Step 7 – Select Cash – Select Change Payment Status -> Accepted – Select Change Reistration Status – Approved. check send only related messages.

Result:

*** Client and admin being sent Pending Payment email and Payment received email. Only suppose to be receiving payment received and registration details. No registration details sent.

Transaction showing as complete. Event showing as fully Paid.

***Registration status did not change as requested to Approved. Is showing as Pending Payment.

I’ve been using this system for a while now and it has been working perfectly till now. Did you guys change the process in the recent update?

Hi there Jos,

Another member reported this issue and I’m verifying a fix right now. We’ll update your support post once we have a maintenance release out with this fix.

Hi Lorenzo, thank you very much!

The work around for it by the way till it is fixed is to untick all the send related messages boxes during the registration and transaction processes.

After completing everything.

You can search for the registration on the registration page for the respective event and then mark it approved manually.

Be sure to tick the send related messages box and the clients will have the correct experience.

they will only receive payment received and the event details emails.

Just in case anyone asks till you guys have it fixed 🙂

Thanks Joseph. Those are the recommended steps and this fix will go out in a maintenance release on Monday.

Hi Lorenzo,

Ok so I tested out the maintenance release with the same process as above and here are the results:

1) Step 5 #2 Now the registrant is receiving a payment pending email even though I check not to send this. before maintenance update this step was working correctly.

2) The previous error where payment pending email was being sent after a full paid registration and completed transaction is no longer occurring. Yayyy!

3)The Registration Status is changing as expected. wahoo!

These results were for version 4.8.13.p

So if we can #1 working properly again I’ll mark this ticket resolved!

Hi Jos,

The status is there’s an open ticket and it’s assigned to a developer to troubleshoot the issue and fix it. We’ll update this thread when a fix is ready.

This has been fixed! You can get the fix by updating to the current version of Event Espresso 4!
