Hi, |
Hi Rene, Where are you viewing the link for the PDF? Within the admin or front end? If you go to Event Espresso -> Messages -> Default message templates. View the templates listed here, can you see an ‘Invoice’ and ‘Receipt’ template listed? (Note there may be multiple pages of templates on that section) I’ve just added a registration to your site under my name, can you send me the Invoice link for that registration so I can take a look? |

If you go to Dashboard -> Settings -> General Do the WordPress Address (URL) and Site Address (URL) fields start with HTTP or HTTPS? The request is unsure on the initial post and then if you retry it works, I suspect this is some kind of redirect on the server side. |

it says https. |
We haven’t changed how the messaging system generates the PDF’s in a long time, it’s a post request to initiate the download which hasn’t changed since we introduced the messaging system. However, I can send you a copy of the previous version of EE (v4.10.29p) which is the version I assume you’ve just updated from if you’d like to test that version again to confirm? |

Yes that would be an option. |
Yes, that should be fine. EE currently doesn’t fully support PHP8, so PHP7.4 is the recommended version, 128MB of RAM should be fine although it does depend on the number of plugins you have and what those plugins are doing. Usually, if your site is running out of memory you should see memory exhausted errors in the logs, which I assume you are not getting?
I don’t know anything about your specific host so I’m not trying to bad-mouth them here, but we hear this very often and then it turns out to be some new security rule/plugin/module they’ve installed on the server which is blocking the request etc. I’m not saying that is the case here, but it’s something we keep in mind when troubleshooting issues like this just as much as possible changes within our own code. |

My apologies, I thought I hyperlinked the HERE text, but I guess not… I’ve updated my previous reply to include the download link. That error does indeed mean your site is running out of memory at times, are you getting a lot of those emails/errors? |

Thank you, |
Hi there! Thanks for getting back to me. I would like to check your problem with our invoice system closer. Could you please share your website details through this URL https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/? Thanks! |

Hi Joao, thank you. I sent you the details. Let me know if you need anything else. Rene |

Hi Joao, any news so far? Thank you |

Hi, please let me know if you can help. I had a developer take a look at the problem and he couldnt figure it out. I need a solution. |
Hi, I spent some time looking into this but unfortunately, I can’t give tell you why this is happening. I’m 99% certain it’s an issue server-side, I’m aware your host has stated nothing changed on their end but switching to v4.10.29.p and the fact that the above 2 versions are working fine for everyone else downloading PDFs points to a server issue. I tried using Fiddler (which is basically a proxy used to capture the data sent from/to my browser and the server) to capture the PDF request, however, when I do that the PDF downloads fine: https://monosnap.com/file/ycfAEBrflAsq0S6nSN0u6vQ2vxeFGE The only difference between those requests is having Fiddler enabled/disabled. My guess right now is an issue with the SSL/TLS handshake as Fiddler would be sitting in the middle of that, but I’m simply guessing as I can’t see anything from either side for this. |
