I enabled paypal standard and after paying on pay pal and coming back to the site, it said that payment was pending, however it was giving me the confirmation email, tickets etc.

Does the payment within the transaction still show pending?

The transaction in the interface shows complete but to the customer it said pending. My registration status looks like your screen show where the default is pending.

Hello,
What you have described sounds like the thank you page showed pending even though the registration was paid. Then the emails went out and the registration was marked as paid / completed within the WP dashboard.
In this case, the PayPal IPN which handles the updating of the payment status may have been a few seconds slow. It is usually quick but can be delayed from time to time.
If you see pending on the thank you page and then refresh, then it should then show complete as the IPN has already updated in the background.
