I have set up Paypal Standard which is taking payments. However it does not re-direct back to the site after taking payment. I am left on Paypal. The registration is listed as ‘abandoned’ in the WordPress EE4 backend unless I manually click the text on Paypal that says ‘Return to Gradbridge enterprises’

Whats happening here as I need Paypal to automatically re-direct back to the thank you page after taking payment

Hi George,

To be automatically returned to your site you need to enable auto return within your PayPal account, for more information go here:

I have done this and the redirect now works after payment. However, the thank you page lists the payment as ‘approved’ but the transaction status as ‘incomplete’. The payment has been taken with Paypal but EE4 is not registering it. There is a link next to transaction status called ‘View Payment Options’. Clicking on this takes me to the http://www.gradbridge.org/registration-checkout page where a popup appears saying:

“An error has occurred:
We’re sorry but there appears to be an error with the “reg_url_link” or the primary registrant for this transaction. Please refresh the page and try again or contact support.”

Thanks,

David

Hi David,

A few things that will help:

1) Contact your host and request that the registration-checkout, thank-you, and transactions pages are excluded from the cache and served dynamically.

2) Log into your PayPal account and make sure that the Instant Payment Notification feature is activated.

Hi there,

What do I enter as the notification URL for IPN?

Any Url is fine since Event Espresso will send its own notification URL, but you can put the home page of your website then a slash, then transactions like this:

https://yoursite.com/transactions
