I recently got an email about paypal security upgrades, adn it requires an SSL Certificate upgrade to SHA-256 by June 17 2016.

SSL Certificate Upgrade to SHA-256

PayPal is unable to determine if your systems are SHA-256 compatible. Please go to 2016-2017 Merchant Security Roadmap Microsite to verify your status.

How do I check if I comply?

Hi Samantha,

You can contact your hosting provider/SSL provider and ask them if the server environment and SSL Certificate meet PayPal’s new requirements.

Our site currently doesn’t have SSL because payment gets redirected to paypal once customers pay, and it’s on paypal’s secure website (https). My host says that means I don’t need the SSL settings, but if you have any additional insight, please let me know. Thanks!

I can advise that you contact PayPal support. They’ve made the new requirements (not us) so they can clarify exactly what you need to be compliant with their new requirements.
