I am experiencing an issue with my Event Espresso installation. Seemingly out of nowhere the connection to PayPal Pro seems to have broken and payments are not processed. I updated my WP core to 4.0 last week, however I have had a successful transaction since then. The issue appears to have started yesterday. When I log into PayPal I see no trace of the transactions and Event Espresso does not have any gateway responses listed in the transactions. When attempting to pay the gear continually rotates and the system says the payment has been declined. All that’s changed (in addition to the core update) was we removed CAPTCHA from the registration page as it appeared to be causing issues though I doubt that would be the issue. My EE version is 4.2.7.p Thanks |

Hi David, Could you follow up with your host to see if they may have accidentally blocked the PayPal servers? https://ppmts.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/92 Also, please try regenerating your API credentials and updating those in Event Espresso payment settings. The latest version of Event Espresso is 4.3.2. Please backup your site and update to the current version: https://eventespresso.com/wiki/ee4-changelog/ — |

September 10, 2014 at 10:00 am Thank you for your quick response Lorenzo. I am the administrator of the network where the website is hosted so I can safely say the paypal servers have not been blocked. Additionally, and I’m not sure if this is relevant, but I notice that all of the wordpress pages hosted on the web server display “RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: Resolving Timed out after 10000 milliseconds” in the WordPress News section – I don’t know if this might indicate a larger problem, however it appears as though information about theme updates and plugin updates works. I am running a backup and will update the core of event espresso when that is done, but in the meantime I’m wondering if you could shed some insight as to whether or not the above “symptom” would be related to my problem with EE? I have looked into the problem and most people mention it is an issue with cURL transport, however I have installed Core Control and tests on cURL transports pass. Many thanks |
