I am using paypal pro and i am having some issues.

The pay by credit card button does not complete the transaction. The paypal button works but not “Pay by credit card button”. Its declining all the cards that are being used.

I have the SSL certificate setup and the paypal pro settings below filled in correctly but the calendar is unable to take payments.

-PayPal Payments Pro Email
-PayPal API Username
-PayPal API Password
-PayPal API Signature
-Select the Currency for Your Country
-Accepted Credit Cards
Visa Master Card Amex Discover

Any suggestions?

Thank you!

Hi there Bjorn,

I recently ran into a similar issue like this and it was caused by extra spacing before the credentials. This can happen when you are copying and pasting the information in the Event Espresso payment settings page.

Could you please double check for extra spacing before and after the credentials?

Thanks Lorenzo! I did try that but still not working. Any other ideas?

Could you try regenerating your API credentials through your PayPal account and updating those into the payment settings page?

Also, is this an existing account or a new PayPal Pro account?

I am in Paypal now and at the API Access page where it says “Choose one of the following options to integrate your PayPal payment solution with your online store or shopping cart.”

I have 2 options:

Option 1 – Grant API permissions to a third party to use certain PayPal APIs on your behalf.

Option 2 – Request API credentials to create your own API username and password.

This option applies to:

Custom websites and online stores
Pre-integrated shopping carts running on your own server

how do I regenerate the credentials?

Thank you

Go with Option 2.

Ok when I choose that option I go to a page that shows my Username, Password, and Signature. Below that are 2 options. “done” and “remove”. So just copy and paste the info from there?

Hello,

You’ll want to remove the existing information and confirm.

Then create a new set of credentials: Request API signature and then agree and submit

This is the screen that your original credentials should have been retrieved from. Does it appear different than before?

It says: The API credential shown below is possibly already in use by your current business partners. If you delete this credential, all API calls by all business partners relying on the credential will stop working.

Are you sure you want to remove this credential?
This credential will be immediately removed. All API calls relying on this credential will stop working.

Ok to remove?

Are you using those PayPal credentials on any other site?
There should be entries in uploads/espresso/logs/espresso_log.txt that correspond to the attempted credit card transactions. You might want to take a look at them to see the detailed error message. It might point to exactly what the problem is.

I have only one website. vippaints.com

Hi Bjorn,

In this case you should be okay with rolling over or creating a new set of credentials.

I want to check into my earlier comment — does that PayPal screen that you are creating new credentials on look familiar?

I just want to make sure that you are using the right service with PayPal.

That looks good so far but is this is new PayPal Pro account?

For example, were you using the account for another project or have you recently set it up with PayPal?

On some PayPal Pro accounts, you need to accept a billing statement before you can actually process payments.

Hi Bjorn,

Could you please create a temporary WordPress admin login so I can take a closer look at this issue?

Please share that temporary login through the secure link below:

https://eventespresso.com/send-login-details/

To prevent delays in troubleshooting, be sure to double check your information on the form before submitting.

The submit button for the form appears after you have answered “Yes” to the last question.

Thanks.

Hi,

Just to check, your API Username starts with a capital D, is that correct in your PayPal settings? Normally they match the API email which in your case starts with a lowercase d.

Other than that the settings look into order.

Are there any error messages being supplied? You may need to check your error log if nothing is showing on screen.

If you use cPanel this may be of assistance http://docs.cpanel.net/twiki/bin/view/AllDocumentation/CpanelDocs/ErrorLog

Its a capital D in Paypal. should we change it then to lowercase d?

I just noticed this in your Event Espresso News widget:

RSS Error: WP HTTP Error: Failed to connect to 204.13.110.232: Permission denied

It may be a server configuration issue blocking outgoing requests from the server, which would also affect the Paypal Pro payment request system. Can you provide us ftp or cpanel access so we can see the EE logs?

where do I send you the cpanel login?

Did you receive the cpanel login? I sent it to you.
