I received a noticed from PayPal that they are “upgrading the certificate for http://www.paypal.com to SHA-256. This endpoint is also used by merchants using the Instant Payment Notification (IPN) product.”

I believe that the PayPal IPN system is being integrated into Event Espresso when using paypal for payment.

What do I need to do (if anything) to make sure that service isn’t interrupted and is this going to effect the integration with event espresso?

Hi Sarah,

We’ve already verified that Event Espresso’s PayPal integration is supported, but you can verify that your server meets the new requirements by checking with your host. The new requirements are listed in this PayPal knowledge base article:

https://www.paypal-knowledge.com/infocenter/index?page=content&widgetview=true&id=FAQ1766&viewlocale=en_US&direct=en

You can also run a test with a PayPal Sandbox account on your server as well.
