HI Dean ( or pete ? )

Hope you guys had a great xmas break. I have just returned to my project now.
http://www.amsn.com.au/seminars

we just had our first 2 registrations which was a bit exciting however I just received an email from a client stating ” error message went across her screen and then timed her out when she tried to use paypal to enroll in the first aid course. She does not know if she registered or paid. Her name Tracey Tervenski. She tried to pay 180 to enroll in our first aid course.
I had a look at the back end and she is indeed registered and payment is marked as pending. I had a look at paypal and def no payment has been recieved.

This issue happened to client that tried to register and again it was marked as pending yet on this occasion payment was actually recieved from paypal.
when i do test run on my paypal accounts it all works fine and i feel i bit frustrated that i cant reproduce the error.
enrollments are expected to flood in over the next few weeks so i just want to to be sure that its all ok.
is there any of that fancy smart stuff you guys can do to see if there is anything wrong. I believe i have sent dean my login details previously but please let me know if you need them again.

thanks so much for all your help so far this is has been the best support forum i have ever had to deal with πŸ™‚

cheers
Brent

Hi Josh

its way above my pay grade but i have managed to follow the instructions and load and activate the txn page template as per the instructions.

I have downloaded the paypal log, its pretty long so i have posted it on my website here so not to blurb out this reply
http://www.amsn.com.au/brentstest/

I dont really understand what it means. I could find no reference to tracey but the previous one ( which went through fine ) seemed to work.
If you get the chance to check it with your expertise and see if anything is amiss i sure would appreciate it.
cheers
Brent

This looks like the issue that Tracey ran into was an issue at PayPal’s end. The IPN log shows no errors. If someone tried to pay on PayPal’s website and there was an error, then it would be expected that their registration payment not get marked as complete.

With the other transaction that went through as paid in PayPal, but stayed as “Pending” in Event Espresso: Is that one in the IPN log?

Hi guys. Just an update.

I have had 2 more enrollments for my seminar

http://www.amsn.com.au/seminars/?ee=1.

One by the name of william paid via paypal. it all went smooth and he marked as payment the complete.

The last one had some problems.
her name is Eva. Her payment did go through as i received a payment recieved notification from paypal. her registeration also went through bu her payment status is still marked as pending.

I acted on your previous suggestion of installing the simple tranaction page templete and set this up last week hoping the problem may be resolved.
My concern is without the payment being marked as complete the client does not receive our auto generated emails that state that enrollment has been successful.
I have copied the paypal log file that shows evas transaction and as its quite long i have pasted it on this link
http://www.amsn.com.au/brentstest

to be honest I have trouble understanding the code.

I have had a bit of a look through the other help forums on this issue and i’m at a bit of a loss as to what to try next from a trouble shooting point of view. it seems hard to isolate the problem as its intermittent.
Disabling the other plugins is not really an option as they are required to run other aspects of the site. I am not using a security plugin. Is there any chance one of the tech guys could have a quick poke around the backend ? I have sent previous log in details to dean.
We are expecting around 200 enrollments over the next fortnight so time pressure is coming up for me to get this resolved.
thanks again for your time

AH HA!!!!!!

I think I may have beaten this issue.
I was double checking and I noticed that the ” Notify URL ” setting in the main settings was set to the home page instead of the transaction page I set up containing the [ESPRESSO_TXN_PAGE] shortcode. I changed the settings over.

I have done some further testing and it seems to be working but I have yet to have any more real world enrollments. Lets call this this resolved for now don’t waste your time of this issue for now πŸ™‚

Strange that it worked at all with the previous setting ?
